Would you like to take a journey with George Lowe III, 50 year legendary alpine climber? Mount Vernon Country Club is very fortunate to host a rare presentation on April 16 of Lowe?s outstanding climbs. In 1990 he accomplished a rare solo ascent of the Dhaulagiri peak, Himalaya, the world?s seventh highest mountain. He became lost on the descent in dark, stormy weather. Climbing thousands of feet through steep ice and snow, he finally found his camp. On April 16, Lowe will present remarkable stories and photos from his outstanding climbs, facing horrific weather and insurmountable odds. Alpinist magazine called his Mount Everest climb ?one of the strongest climbing attempts in the history of alpinism.? Join George Lowe, a man who has said, ?Climbing has taught me that most limits exist only in my mind.? George Henry Lowe III is now 68 and still climbing. He is a legend in the climbing community and a highly skilled scientist and engineer.
