Event Description:

Mental Health First Aid is an innovative, 8-hour course designed to give you the tools to recognize a range of mental health problems and the skills and confidence to help someone in a mental health crisis. The program provides a concrete action plan to help someone in crisis connect with appropriate professional, peer, and self-help care.

Mental Health First Aid teaches you:
Signs of addictions and mental health problems
5-step action plan to assess a situation and help
Impact of mental health and substance use disorders
Local resources and where to turn for help

WHO SHOULD LEARN MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID?
Teachers, administrators, college faculty and clergy
Employers, human resources and other professionals
Health care and human services professionals
Law enforcement and other first responders Families and caring citizens

This class takes place over two days.  Thursday, March 23rd from 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm & Thursday, March 30th from 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm.
