It has been estimated that over 360,000 veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have sustained a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Post Trau-matic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and/or Post Concussive Syndrome (PCS). Studies have been conducted using HBOT as an adjunctive therapy for TBI, PTSD, and PCS and these stud-ies have shown that patients receiving these treatments had a dramatic increase in cognitive abilities, improved recovery in motor skills and a significant decrease in PTSD symptoms.
Rocky Mountain Hyperbaric Association for Brain Injuries’ Healing Our Heroes program supports our veterans by assisting with payments for hyperbaric therapy treatments. The program also provides housing for out-of-town veterans receiving treatment.
On May 19, 2012, Armed Forces Day, a fund raising event is being sponsored by the American Legion Riders of District 5.
