Name: Last of the Doughboys Book Discussion
Date: May 23, 2018
Time: 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM MDT
Event Description:
“Where Do We Go From Here?”: America in the First World War. World War I Book Discussion Series: The Last of the Doughboys. The story of a war is much more than the recital of facts, battles, strategies, dates, casualties, treaties, etc. No matter the impacts of war upon nations and the world order, the underlying story of a war is its immediate and long lasting impacts on individuals. The impacts are upon the planners and initiators of a war, the combatants in the war, the families of participants, and those who must suffer the privations always attendant to war and its aftermath. Come participate in a book discussion of The Last of the Doughboys by Richard Rubin, a book about America’s experience of that war, at the front, behind the lines, and at home. Presented by the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities, Colorado Humanities, and the Colorado World War I Centennial Commission. Location and Pricing: Golden History Park – Guy Hill Schoolhouse, 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., Free for all. Registration is required.
