From about 1870 until 1920, entertainment in most cities and towns of Colorado were centered in opera houses. Silent films were shown at the many theaters on Curtis Street in Denver and at movie houses in Golden. Early filming occurred in Golden and some movie stars even lived in the surrounding area. Learn from historian Ed Weising about the many forms of entertainment in Colorado, movie stars from Golden and Colorado, and the movies made in our state.
